The overprinting of Stamp Booklets commenced in 1993 as a vehicle for advertising the Association and our Petersham Stamp, Coin & Banknote Show.
For ease of reference they are commonly referred to as SCDAA Series 1 or 5 or 16 etc. The first booklet was Series 1 with the Series number increasing as overprints are produced. There are usually 2 issues per year.
From 1993 until 2001 the overprints had a small print run of only 200 with most of these being supplied to the Association Members who then supplied their customers. Over the years all the Overprints have shown increase on the issue price with many becoming quite scarce with collectors placing them in their collection for years to come.
In 2001 the Committee made the decision to advertise the Overprints in the Philatelic Press. Such was the response from the public that production of following issues had to increase to satisfy the demand from Standing order customers.
